Is this a good fitness plan for a 13 year old? I was a bit disappointed with my last bleep test score (9.3) when i used to get 11.6. I haven't been exercising a lot recently. I have a new fitness plan, will this be any good for the bleep test and any sport in general. Every night and every other morning: 50 pressups 25 sit ups 20 crunches 30 squats Every Tuesday, Saturday and sunday; Rugby training or match. Every sunday 2mile run. Saturday or Sunday play golf. Also will this improve my cardio and stamina. How long will it take before i should be able to get up to 11.6 in the bleep test. -Thanks

Better choice: Kinesiology or Journalism? I'm going into my sophomore year at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I'm currently an undeclared major and have been sifting through every possible choice in major and have finely decided between two majors: Kinesiology (possibly pre-physical therapy) and Journalism. I have played 3 organized sports (football, baseball, basketball, and golf), football and baseball the longest, ever since I was 3 and my mom is a marathon runner who has helped me greatly on fitness training and dieting/nutrition, which I have taken with great dedication, but I have also been a real writer's nut. I have always scored A's on papers in school (All A's on my college papers) and my english professor has even commented on my efforts and asked me if i had been interested in english/journalism as a major. I have also written a lot of articles on sports, cars, other hobbies, etc. in my free time. I'm a witty and argumentative writer. The only problem is that I can't decide which route I would like to take. Could anyone give me some insight on career prospects for both (especially given the economy and where it's at) as well as employment stability, pay, and other aspects of both majors and the careers that they lie under? If someone could dig up an opinion/view that I hadn't considered before, it would help me greatly! Thanks. I mean 4 sports. My bad.

Bench Press? Why do muscle-heads spend so much time and effort on the bench press? Why is that the main indicator of strength for some people? Personally, I do about 40 different strength training exercises for my entire body. I do dumbell press for my chest among many other chest exercises - I don't even do bench press. I also run 10km, swim, cycle, play basketball and golf regularily. I guarantee I am in better shape and am a better athlete than 90% of these gym dudes. But if you ask some of these fat guys with big arms (hardly physically fit athletes) how their training is going they will give you bench press numbers. Why? Is the strength of you upper and mid-chest the number one goal in your physical fitness and athletic career?
