Credibility of Boxing Fitness Institute Accredidation in group fitness/PT World? Hi y'all, I'm thinking about become a part time personal trainer or group fitness instructor with boxing related workouts. I've been boxing for a very long time and have competition experience. I've helped train other fighters part time outside of my full-time career but I'd like to teach boxing recreationally. I've read a bit about the major personal training certifications but was wondering if anyone's looked at: http://www.boxingfitnessinstitute.com/ My question is targeting current physical trainers who use boxing/kickboxing/fightsport as their medium or hiring managers at gyms: 1) Can someone please give me their opinion on the boxing fitness instutute reputation? 2) If I have this certification with a standard CPR certification, would I still need to go through the other certification boards?

Beginner's boxing advice and best place to buy a cheap punch bag? Hey, I'm 18 and have recently really started to become interested in boxing and boxing-related fitness training. I'm looking to buy a cheap ("cheap" being an important word) punch bag kit, with the brackets and chains included. I would also be interested in looking at a free-standing punch bag, or a wall bag. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could suggest or link me to a good place to buy what I'm looking for. If you have any stories or advice on getting started, please also leave a comment because it would be great to read what you have to say. Thanks a lot, Mark

Fitness group class, 3 times a week, 1 hour hybrid class of resistance training, cardio and stretching? Fitness group class, 3 times a week, 1 hour hybrid class of resistance training, cardio and stretching? Fitness group class, 3 times a week, 1 hour hybrid class of resistance training, cardio and stretching? How much would you pay for a unique hybrid class that is done in groups of 10 on 10 identical fully equipped stations. Each class would include planned 1. strength/resistance training working major muscle groups each class with various exciting exercises 2. high intense cardio before and after workout and in between some sets (running, jumps, burpees, cycling, boxing, kickboxing) 3. stretching Each class would be challanging but resistance could be changed based on and set according to fitness level/condition of member. Everybody would be entitled to work out three times a week for an hour in a fixed schedule. So when signing up people have to choose the time slots they will work out. That will guarantee them a station for those workouts.

Boxing or Martial Arts? I currently wrestle. In an amatueur level. with friends. I mean like the grappling Greek wrestling... not the WWE. I want to start either a form of Martial Arts or proper Boxing Training. I also box currently... but only for fitness means. I have no idea about technique. So which would you choose? Martial arts or Boxing? I suppose I could be adequete at Karate or Taek-won-do. I know I have a boxers physique... but i don't want to limit myself to one style. Is there a style of fighting which combines the essentials of both sports? I'd love to know one... to combine both passions. Also... I'm 14. As I've been boxing for a while... I know I'm decent... and can be fairly formidable in later years. But As most kids start martial arts at -10 years I've been wondering if I should dedicate myself to it... because I can't stand to fail. So do you think I'm too old to start or not. PS:I'll still do it even if I'm too old. I just won't dedicate myself to it and will stick to boxing

Boxing gyms in Orange County? Where would be the best place to train for boxing in Orange County? I don't really want an fitness type boxing gym that focuses more on losing weight and getting fit. I've tried LA fitness, but how do the other boxing gyms in Orange COunty compare, price-wise and quality-wise?
Which is the best Amateur Boxing Club in north London? I'm a keen fitness enthusiast but have recently suffered a serious back injury. After 3 months treatment my Physio has suggested that Boxing would be a good way to train and rehabilitate my back problem. I'm looking for a boxing club where I can train 3 times a week not too far from where I live at Holloway Road.
Boxing/Kickboxing - what sort of things can I do to train...? I can't go to any classes at the moment as they are all on when I am working, but I would still like to start training for general fitness and so that when I can finally join a class I have some experience. My local gym has a boxing class so I can use the stuff any time I want, I just can't get to the classes. Any advice on what sort of stuff to do? I would like to do this purely for the funof the sport but might want to compete further down the line. Thanks! (ps does it make any difference that I am a woman?)
I'm a girl that wants to start boxing? What kind of training do i need to do before i get the bag, gloves, stuff like that ? I need some tips.. I'm not going to box competitively, but for fitness & maybe self defense. oh yeah, im 14, 5'4, and about 138lbs.
Amateur Boxing, please help? Basically i'm 15, nearly 16 and i've been to a couple of amateur boxing training sessions with a couple of mates of mine who've been doing it a while. I really enjoy it, and love the fitness aspects as well as learning the technique behind boxing. However my parents are completely against it, i've tried telling them that it will keep me fit and build my self-confidence, but they keep saying that they're not going to let me participate as they reckon i'm gonna get brain damage. I'm relatively intelligent and looking to go into a career in medicine, and they think that somehow i'm going to become as dumb as mike tyson just by attending the training sessions and sparring. I have no intention of getting into the whole fighting thing (bouts, competitions etc.) as i just don't think i'd enjoy it, but i really want to learn how to defend myself, and keep fit. It seems my parents are okay with the keeping fit part, but as soon as i mention sparring they instantly say i can't go. So what can i do to convince them that i'm not going to get brain damage simply by sparring at training, and convince them to let me go. Any help with this would be great cheerz (:

does the ymca have a boxing club? hey people I'm an amateur boxer, and I've finally had enough fights to qualify in the 2010 Golden Gloves competition but my current boxing club has closed down and my trainer/manager has moved to a new boxing club and left me for a professional fighter. So is there any sort of boxing club that the ymca offers? Keep in mind that I don't want a fitness boxing program/aerobic boxing program that focuses just on getting fit, I'm talking about an actual boxing program that trains you to be a competing boxer. Any real help at all is appreciated, and thanks to those who have already helped.
Am i too old to take boxing seriously and turn pro eventualy. I am 25 and 6 months old? Iv done boxing training from 21 to 23 but have had no fights to date yet. Then from 23 to 25 done alot of physical training down gym and in royal marines (no longer in now) and decided i wanted to give my boxing a shot again. I weigh 64 kg and am very toned and have conditioned my self well over the last few years and my fitness is defo there and i look about 19 anyway because i have always looked young even though i have hated that e.g always getting asked for I.D etc. Im still gona go for it anyway because in my opinion anything in life is down to personal preference and not age as such. But i was wondering what opinions other people from the sport had on this matter. My trainer said i will be ready to fight in the next 2 months or so as this is when he is having his next show. Thanks for your time and help.
how do i adjust to Heavy Bag training with skinny wrists? i recently bought an Everlast 70lb Heavy Bag to fart around with. i'm not training for boxing or anything, mostly for fitness an in case of an emergency situation where i have to fight. after about 5 minutes of jabs and hooks, i noticed my wrists started to hurt a lot. is this normal? i have very skinny wrists (only 6in. in diameter.), so i figured the reason they hurt so much was because of that, or cause my form sucks and i dont know what i'm doing yet, or both. anyone else have the same problem when they first started out? should i just keep practicing and working out, or should i just buy a gun?
Punch Bag vs Running..........? I am a 33 year old man,who is reasonably fit.Currently weigh 14 stone 4 pound,6ft tall, but know i could definitely shed over a stone and look physically the same (except for slimmer face - ive lost this amount before) - my belly just reduces in size. That's one of the problems - when i workout i find stomach exercises so boring i omit them quite a lot when i should be focusing on them! When i'm in the zone ie, training all the time its really enjoyable.I have historically gone from running all the time or bag workouts and want to know what will increase my core fitness more? I'm waiting on confirmation of competing in a white collar boxing event - training supposed to start at the end of July.So i would like a head start before the training to lose the bulk of my body fat before i start sparring etc. I have a big problem though - INERTIA!! Like i said, when i'm in the zone i will talk Boxing, fitness and well being 24/7 but then i can just hit a brick wall. I would be honest enough to put this down to alcohol.I do shift work and cant socialise all the time so i might come home and have some lager( cue the belly) or red wine. If i have too much then obviously i feel sleep deprived the next day and that training session goes out the window due to lack off energy. I know i'm sort of answering my own question here but wondered if anyone had had the same experience and found a solution to training consistently. I would say i am a moderate drinker and will be abstaining when the Boxing training begins. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Paul
If someone joins a boxing gym and as an interest/side hobby ? goes into it for 2 years and works out a bit, and joined the gym in teh first place to use his time productively and cut back on say, smoking and drinking (and lazying around the house all day/night) - would the 2 years of disciplined training make him a competent defender of himself out in the streets or just, in any '1 vs 1 ' phsyical altercation with another guy ? or will it simply boil down to 'improvisation' and not 'boxing skills/phsyical fitness' when you get into a fight outside with another bloke u never seen/met before ? would it actualy benefit a bloke, 2 years of solid gym training - or is 'boxing' somehing where you have to make it your life before it can ever become useful ? i.e either know it properly or don't waste your time at a gym ? what significant health changes/physical changes will i start noticing once ive been at the boxging gym for say - 2 months ? I have biceps cos i use to a lot of pushups in my late teens into my early 20s, but steered towards the beer-a-thon night quests in the capital with mates. often returning home legless and/or falling asleep on public transport and/or chundering my guts outside tube stations heh i also smoke a bit, like 10-15 cigs a day. When i aint got cigs around me, i do bicep curls with my dumbells - just to keep the upper body strong and the arms looking 'tight' and buff. i want to join a boxing gym because: a) i want to find a physical activity/new hobby to keep fit b) find a good outlet to release stress/testostrone/anger @ the lameness of society c) and be in a position to not back off from an aggressor, as to, give him the FULL license to come at me only to be floored effortlessly in the process before the womenfolk and public onlookers. (remember i would not be the aggressor here). d) become fitter e) become less lazy f) more disciplined g) learn to appreciate my body/physique more h) marvel at my physique day in day out infront of a mirror and in a position for once in my life where I can play 'hard to get' around the ladies lol yes ?

how can i surpass him in physical fitness? He has been training for longer than me, so he is stronger than me, but we are somewhat the same age. he is better in sprinting, boxing and the gym (except pull ups and regular running). He has been training boxing for 3 years and I started 5 months ago. Is there a way to surpass him, since now he is only doing push-ups and home, and he doesn't do boxing or go to the gym? He is slightly stronger than me, but he is faster and better in boxing. I have more stamina but I want to be faster than him and to be able to take him down. i was thinking of going to judo. Will learning that help me beat him, plus boxing. It's just a rival that I have, nothing serious. Please your opinion and advice

Should I go for personal training at my gym? Hello, I am having some serious issues with my body here. Overall i have a very skinny build- mainly my legs and arms are skinny. I had actively participated in sports in high school, and as such had maintained a very good figure. However, since the start of college, all i have done is eat, sleep, drink ton of soda everyday. Now in that course i never really thought i was getting fat, so i never bothered to check my weight or go out for some exercise. now i have the oddest body ever: skinny legs, skinny arms, skinny shoulders, bulging belly, ton of facial fat, and worst of it MAN BOOBS. i am really sick of it. i'm 19 now...and started college at 18. so that's one year of accumulated fat on my body. i have had no dates ever since i started college, and now i very well know the reason for that. I have been going to the gym for a month now, and i don't see any changes in me, and the weight is just about the same. 24 fitness provides personal training at a cost of $279 for like 3 months. do you guys think that would be good idea to go for that, coz i really need to speed the process up. there's another plan that is 99 bucks but that's for a very limited time, and not really detailed. i have been saving for quite a while now (i even delayed buying the x-box 360 and new ipod for this purpose), so i think i can afford the 279 plan. so what do you guys think.

I recently rolled my ankle (damaging the ligaments) after 6 months training. How can i get fit again quickly? I am a soccer player and trained in the post season 5 times per week, long distance (10-12kilometers) running, Boxing twice per week and soccer training The week before the first game, i sprained my ankle in the last pre-season friendly. Now after 5 weeks, it's healed, and i need to get my fitness up to scratch pretty quickly. Apart from Interval training (or Fartlak), what else can i do to quickly return my fitness to it's previous level? Any ideas?
Boxing as a hobby? i had a few concerns. i want to start boxing as a side hobby. I just wanted to know where i should search to start boxing. i have had a love for the sport ever since i was younger and this summer i'll be in albany, ga and i wanted to start training. not to go into the amateur circuit but as a physical fitness (i've been into weight training for about 6 yrs) and a form of self defense. i was in kung fu for about 2 years but found it to be way too impractical. is there any tips on where i should go? i know there's a place called phantom boxing gym but i don't want be someone's punching bag for 2 months before i actually get any work in. when i used to take kung fu we would have class for about 30 min then we would break into pairs and work with each other. will boxing gyms offer any form of guidance into the sport of boxing? I checked the neighborhood YMCA and doesn't look like they offer any classes. any help as of now would be great. thanks.
Question about Planet Fitness? Do any of you work out at a Planet Fitness that has an area for boxing? Speed bags, heavy bags, double end bag, mirrors ect? The reason is that I stopped going to my boxing gym as its 40min away, and I signed up for Planet Fitness which is a mile down the road. Im no longer training to fight, but I still wouldnt mind hitting the bag every now and then. The Planet Fitness I work out at doesnt have this, but if others do, then maybe eventually the one I work out will. Thanks.

a cross between boxing and karate? if one day i make my own style up it will be a str8 cross between boxing and karate i would use karate kicks or even tae kwon do kicks (just side, round house, front, crescent, axe) and boxing no kata at all no weapons at all no grappling at all just boxing hands and karate kicks i would train in a gym rather than a dojo type set up and i would push a more boxing style of approach do you think this would be a good style? my aim would be to make a system that gives awsome fitness, flexability, and general conditioning toughness etc and really basic strikes that actually work i wouldnt use colourd belts but i may use long karate style pants rather than shorts but just a t shirt or tank top for a top do you think this would be a good system? oh and i would not claim good self defense id only push its aswome fitness benifits my system would be heaps different to kick boxing you probably thing tae kwon do is the same as karate you foolish person you :P apart from that comment thankx for the answers
Should i take boxing? what martial art should i take? dont know which one is right for me.? I am 16, 135 pounds. i get called small alot, cause i look rly skinny. But, i am cut. like you know?.....fit. alot of muscle definition and some strength. i have a 6 pack and starting to get a more bigger chest. i would like to have some sort of training just for self defense and to get into shape. i am not going to use this training to go out and fight kids. strictly for fun, fitness, and self defence. I have my mind set on boxing, dont know why. a couple of my friends have boxed for a while, and say they liked it and its worth it. i like the style of it too, like how you throw combos. my parents say that it would be completely useless in todays society because everyone is into mma, and grapples. they also say that sparring would ruin my face. i am a good looking guy, not to brag, but wouldnt any kind of sparring end up with you getting hit in the face?. and im in highschool, so not THAT many people know how to fight well, .. just like to flail their arms.what should i look into, thank we dont have a wrestling team at out school btw (N)
anybody have any suggestions? well im starting up some boxing training in my shed, i have a punch bag, an i was wondering does any1 have any suggestion as to wat wud be a good work witht he bag, i want to loose body fat and get more fitness.
I need to improve my fitness, condition myself, and get stronger in 2 weeks!!!!? Right, Ive got a charity boxing match in just under 2 weeks, and although I feel I may have gotten my fitness level to a state that might enable to last the fight, I would like to try and improve it even more. I'm 6"5", 17 stone, and have been training for the last 2 months. My typical training regime is a set of weights, 30 min run, sparring session using hook and jab pads (i have no access to bag whatsoever!) and then finally doing conditioning in the form of taking hits to my chest and stomach. So, can anyone help me with the last few days to really get myself prepared? Many thanks
im 25 just started boxing having 1-2-1 coaching wit a pro. (generally) when would i b ready for my 1st fight? Hi all. Im 25 years old, just started training on a one to one basis with a PRO boxer. I've been told i have a good understanding and a natural to the basics of boxing. However, i understand that everyone is different; depending on ability, skills, commitment, fitness etc etc. But I was wondering on a general basis how long would it be before i could have my first fight at ammeter level? How Much would one to one training help as appose to group work / classes etc Another question is at 25 am i to old? im not looking to become a pro but just to have fun and compete at a semi decent level as an amateur? any comments from people with experience and knowledge would be much appreciated. regards, ja
Too late for me and boxing? I'm 21, and never have boxed before. I'm 6'2 and my lowest weight was 172 (basically no body-fat...my bench max was 250 and I can curl ove 100 lbs easily- just so you know I'm not a weakling or anything) I know theres more to boxing than strength, but my work ethic is there. I would run 3 miles a day atleast, 6-8 when i wasn't lifting - cardio and everything, I havethe physical ability I know it, just not the training. I have always wanted to be in a combat sport, but just never did. I have recently fallen off the fitness wagon the past 2 months(moved home from college) I still lift, but my diet is not what it used to be, I've only gained 8 lbs, some fat some muscle. But I can cut that in less than 2 weeks easily. thats my background, where do I start, what should I expect? I know I need training, how long do you think until I would be ready for a little league fight? How do the cards work in the beggining? How much training a day, days a week? Dedication isnt a proble for me
what is a good way to approach running as daily exercise?? I currently train in kickboxing and usually I walk for 60mins-90mins on my nights that I am not at training, and just recently my instructor told me that If I jog every night for just 30mins I'll be getting better results and fitness than opposed to walking for hours.. at boxing we skip and run but only in short intervals (2mins) then do core exercises in between.. My trainer was said that running is the best sure fire way to lose fat and keep lean muscle fast as it is an anerobic exercise??(I think, I don't have the best memory) any way I tried running the other night and can only seem to do it for 500 meters then I'm buggered.. I started of sprinting and then tried to jog instead to see if that helped but it seems really hard to do. I thought I was relatively fit till I tried to run.. My goal is to be able to run 30 mins 4 -5 nights a week, any tips on how to get started or used to runnning would be great. how I now admire long distance runners now that I relise just how hard it is!
Should i start boxing? i'm 17 5'11'' and 140lbs. i'm really interested in it for the self defense and fitness and not as much for the competition, maybe just a little. if i do pick it up, should i just by the equipment and train on my own or should i go to a gym? i got a weight bench and could get bags. thanx
Do you need to get in the ring to be good? i've never been interested in proper boxing, but i train on the heavy bag at home as a way of conditioning my body and muscle that i build from doing weights. i first got interesting in boxing training as a way of self defence and upper body fitness; you see videos of guys on youtube who are built but suck at fights, and other videos of boxers who get happy slapped and KO like two guys at once. so what i wanted to know is, can you become a good boxer without actually getting in the ring? its just i dont really want to fight, its not who i am, i just want to be able to protect myself if the problem ever arises
How to gain muscle? Barely just joined a fitness gym. I am in boxing but have never done strength training, mostly endurance and speed. 16 years old 5 feet 8.5 inches 139 pounds I have plenty of strength in my legs, quick with both my feet and fists, but lack strength a sdfsdfsdfsdfsd a sdfsdfsdfsdfsd I got punching power but thats different because that has to do with technique but thats totally different from weight training
Help!!! presentation topic problem?? Hi guys,I'm going to presentation about Bruce lee..and i can only choose this two topic to talk and the rest my partner has choose it. Should I talk about his Martial art or his Physical fitness ?? Example like : THIS ONE IS Martial art = ( Lee's first introduction to martial arts was through his father, Lee Hoi Cheun. He learned the fundamentals of Wu style Tai Chi Chuan from his father. His sifu is Wing Chun master Yip Man, Lee trained in Wing Chun Gung Fu from age 13–18 under Hong Kong Bruce was also trained in Western boxing and won the 1958 Boxing Championship match against 3-time champion Gary Elms by knockout in the 3rd round. Before arriving to the finals against Elms, Lee had knocked out 3 straight boxers in the first round. In addition, Bruce learned western fencing techniques from his brother Peter Lee, who was a champion fencer at the time Lee began teaching martial arts after his arrival in the United States in 1959 ) OR THIS ONE IS Physical Fitness= ( He trained from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., including stomach, flexibility, and running, and from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. he would weight train and cycle. A typical exercise for Lee would be to run a distance of two to six miles in 15 to 45 minutes, in which he would vary speed in 3–5 minute intervals. Lee would ride the equivalent of 10 miles in 45 minutes on a stationary bike. Lee would sometimes exercise with the jump rope and put in 800 jumps after cycling. Lee would also do exercises to toughen the skin on his fists, including thrusting his hands into buckets of harsh rocks and gravel. He would do over 500 repetitions of this on a given day. According to Linda Lee, soon after he moved to the United States, Lee started to take nutrition seriously and developed an interest in health foods, high-protein drinks and vitamin and mineral supplements.) Which one is good ?? please anyone give a advise..I will really appreciate it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_lee And give me a reason why do you think martial arts its good 10 point please anyone answer this.. Anyone answer this please, urgent !!!

I'm a Soccer Goalie in the off season... training? hello. I am in the 10th grade right now, but I've recently had the oppertunity to play varsity soccer at my school, not only for the girls, but for the boys as well. This year I played pretty good I believe, but I only played 50 percent of the time. next year, I'll always be playing so I want to step my game up a little more. I have some pretty unrealistic goals for myself and I am unsure of how to train myself. Right now my average punt goes 3/4 of the way up the field, but for next year I have a goal of scoring a goal on a regular basis from my 18 yard box. I know that this may seem unrealistic, but I like to aim for the the best because if I fall short I will at least be good. I also want to get better in shootouts, but i will rarely have a partner available to help me. i plan on running regularly to gain fitness even more than I do now, but again, I'm not sure how I can train for these two main things without help. I've heard that you can punt into a goal, but than i wont see it go If you have any tips, ideas or anything else it would be greatly appreciated. ps I forgot to meansion my difficulty with my goal kick. In all of our games for about 90% of the time, my teams sweeper has been taking the goal kick, but I'd like to get better at it so she is able to take a breather when she needs it most. I'd also like to get better so that when it is nesasary for the kick to go ofg immediately, I will be able to execuse it quickily and efficiently.

How should I prepare myself for joining the Royal Navy (Officer, Warfare dept.) in September? I'm currently concentrating on my fitness; I run six miles in about 30/40 minutes every evening and spend an hour in the gym every day. I also box at my local club. I am in bed by 11 every night and up at 5. Will this put me in good stead for basic training? Is there anything else I should prepare myself for? If so, how can i go about it? Also, what do they want to hear at the selection interviews? Shall I comment on my love for the sea, as well as my willingness to be a leader etc etc, or do they not care about that? Serious answers please- thanks!
Need help for my training...? okay well i want to gain weight and i want to be a amateur boxer, i currently train 6days a weeek boxing, if i cut it down to 3 or 4 days a weeek and 2 or 3 days working exclusively on weight training would my cardio fitness decrease and would i gain weight??? Plus any sugggestions and recomendations are welcomed.
I need advice on caring for my pregnant girlfriend, please read the details? J/K Now that I have your attention, I'd like some opinions on a fight club that a friend and I are starting. We got the idea recently when we were purchasing some boxing gloves. It struck me like lightning, "Dude, we need to start a fight club." So now he and I have it in our heads to carry this through. Starting off we are going to recruit fighters in our circle of friends and later on, slowly gain new members. My friend posted a similar question to this one and no we are not 14 year old underweights trying to act macho. I myself am in it for the, fun, competition, and fitness that comes from boxing. But of course we'll allow more than conventional boxing, other styles and forms are acceptable. Also we will be concerned with safety as we will be wearing gloves and mouthgaurds, and will have a first aid kit on hand. After we get enough fighters we will train, have fights, and when we're ready we'll have matches for friends to watch . Gambling will be allowed, but 10% goes to the club. and yes i am a deceptive bastard using pregnancy as an attention getter, btw i don't have a pregnant girlfriend, so don't worry about that.
is martial arts really usefull in a street fight ?? is martial arts like karate , taekwondo, muay thai, kick boxing etc... usefull in a street fight or is it jus to build up the mental and physical morale and fitness ?? i know it can be applied for lethal effects but speaking practically is it viable to do so for a person whos not training for decades and whos not a sensei.... if it can be applied practically, then which art form is more effective for a quick knockout?
Whats the big deal with running & heart rate? no clue? I'm been a real fitness freak for the last 5 yrs, i run every morning & i was professionally boxing for 3 yrs, but during this whole time I've never really experimented with heart rate's & pedometers(not sure if that has anything do with it). Could somone please explain to me the basics of checking your heart rate while running, how to do it, what numbers i should be aiming for. I need all the help now since i've stop boxing & major training seasons, i want to keep my body in shape. i'm 84 - 85kgs, 6 feet tall. atm if that helps
Any body know...? if there are any places to be trained to start boxing in Sacramento, CA? I have looked into Ultimate Fitness which teaches boxing and MMA but I am a little low on funds and don't know how much they cost.
Which Martial art should I go for? I am looking to start training in a martial art but I don't know which one I should choose. The main reason being to add a new dimension to my fitness regeme but also to look after myself...not just defensive though, I'd like to be trained in offencive techniques too. I'm 22 years old, 5'10", and I'm quite strong and stocky (I'v been lifting weights for more years than I care to remember!) I'm not very fast or flexible but I guess that would improve with the right training. I don't want anything too formal- I'm looking for a hobby not something thats going to feel like being in the army! I'm quite lucky because locally I potentially have access to Ju Jitsu, karate, kung fu, western boxing and Kick boxing. Which should I go for?
