What type of pedal system is installed on the 24 hour fitness cycling bikes? I'd like to buy some cleats for my spinning class.
What is the difference between a fitness and bike and a road bike? I am a regular mountain biker, but like to road-ride, too. However, my full-suspension is way too much drama for the pavement and even my hardtail is too heavy for efficient road travel. I want something lighter and better suited. The problem is, I am not super fond of the "feel" of road bikes. I saw that Trek (my fave) had "fitness" bikes and "urban" bikes and I am wondering if anyone can tell me what are the advantages/disadvantages to choosing a fitness or urban bike over a road bike? THANKS! :) Just to add, a fitness bike is not a stationary bike. It is an actual style of bicycle like urban, road, mountain, triathalon, etc. I was just hoping that someone had some info on what might be better suited for me. Thanks to anyone who can help!
What major health club chain carries "Life Fitness" brand recumbent bikes? I've lost 187 pounds using one and I'm having a house built and will no longer have access to the apartment weight room. I also don't want to incorporate a smelly workout room into my new house. Please help. Any health club that carries this brand whether it is LA Fitness, 24Hour Fitness etc... will help soooo much.......
How to you assemble the Pro Fitness Magnetic exercise bike from Argos? I recently bought the pro fitness magnetic exercise bike form Argos (£59.99), but am having problems assembling it. It says you have to disconnect the resistance adjustment from the trimming lead before putting the trimming lead through the handlebar post hole and reconnecting again. Cant get them disconnected as its in tension. Has anyone else bought and assembled this?
What are the Right road bike components for casual fitness rider? I just purchased a pretty cheap bike and I’m slowly going to upgrade the main components: derailleur’s. Fork, cranks etc. Etc. The question is: does a casual fitness rider like me really going to need let’s say… Shimano 105, Ultegra, Dura-ace components; or is there something more appropriate? Mainly less expensive T.T? How to choose a bike for fitness purposes? I want to purchase a bike I can ride to the store, around the neighborhood, to the park's trails, the dirt trail near our house, etc. I want to start riding to get in shape. I live near the library, parks, friends houses, etc, and would like to start riding instead of driving. I dont know WHAT to look for in a bike, or how much Im looking to spend. ok i want to start up bike rideing to improve my fitness but how long should i start riding for? Ok bought a new bike from big w and want to add bike rideing into my fitness regime but i dont know how long i should ride for as ive been told that i should build myself up. the bike i bought is a 18 speed mountain bike wich i intend to take up into the closest national park and do some serious bike rideing. However for now its just back street cruiseing untill i get my cardio up to scratch so any one got a few good bikeing tips?
What is a good exercise bike and fitness routine for me? I STARTED WALKING LAST WEEK 2 MILES EVERY OTHER DAY. I WANT TO EXERCISE EVEN MORE LIKE AT HOME DURING THE DAY. I CANT EAT THAT MUCH, ITS DISGUSTING I THINK CAUSE I HATE FOOD. I AM ON THE VERGE OF A BREAKDOWN BECAUSE OF MY WEIGHT. I HAVE AN ESOPHAGUS DISORDER WHERE I HAVE TROUBLE SWALLOWING FOODS, I HAVE TO HAVE MY ESOPHAGUS DILATED EVERY 6 MONTHS BECAUSE OF THIS, ACTUALLY WED. I AM HAVING THE PROCEDURE DID AGAIN. CAN ANYONE GIVE ME SOME INSIGHT ON THIS MATTER. ALSO I HAVE TRIED DIET PILLS BUT THEY DONT HELP CAUSE I HAVE TROUBLE SWALLOWING. H E L P!!!! What is the best time of day for jogging/biking for cardio fitness? For a person who wakes in the morning, workes during the day and sleeps at night what time of day is most beneficial?
I am a keen runner- What exercise can I do to maintain my fitness while my leg is injured? I am a very active & fit person & work out @ da gym for 2hrs 40 mins daily- 1 hr running 11.1k(with a 5 min cool down), 1 hr on the bike mchne (with a 5 min cool down) & 30 mins stretching & sit-ups to finish. About 1 wk & a half/2 wks ago I injured my leg (I think by running) but thought it was just a minor strain so carried on gritting my teeth & working out as usual (I also kick-box 2ce a wk). My kick boxing instructor advised me not to work out so harshly if I was in pain but thinking it was just a little strain I ignored his advice. Last night my leg was too painful & I had to admit defeat. I was advised to buy Ibuprofen gel (as oppose to the heatrub) which I have been using since last night and told to rest with no exercise. This has becom traumatic 4 me bein a fitness fanatic and I've been told if I HAVE to do anything to swim & POSSIBLY go on the bike. Da fitness instructor thinks I may hav torn a muscle & is doin a sports msg Fri. Advice on how I maintain fitness b4 I recover?

Looking at a bike for fitness. Already own a MTB, looking for new Road/Fitness bike.? I've done mountain biking for years and i own a pretty nice setup when it comes to mountain biking. The bad part is that the nearest trail is about an hour from my home and so i cant get out there as often as i would like and even less to work out. I lift weights but i am looking for a good carido type things so i am looking at a type of road bike. I narrowed it down to either the Trek 1500, Giant OCR/TCR models or at a Trek 7.3/7.5 or Giant FCR. Remember, its for fitness and not a big step in to the road circuit. What is your advice.

Which home fitness machine gives the best overall workout? I've realised I don't have room for a treadmill which was my first choice, so I'm looking for something a bit more compact like a cross trainer or an exercise bike. Are fitness and energy drinks good for you? My boyfriends 12 year old son has moved in with us. When he lived in Idaho with his mother she gave him fitness and engery drinks. Now he wants to drink them here, he says they wake him up in the morning. He is not active in sports and the only exrcise he gets is riding his bike around the neighborhood. So should I let him have them or are they bad for your body if you really don't need to replace vitiams and minerals from exercising?

Trek hybrid or fitness bike? I would like to get a bike for casual use as well as exercise and some long weekend rides - if all goes well ideally more than the weekends - I plan on staying on roads though can say if I'll ever end up on a dirt road somewhere. Tour De France-Training regimen for these fitness maniacs? Granted, all the Tour de France Cyclists have their own training programs/team programs or whatever. I just simply find it hard to comprehend how they get to these fitness levels. Can someone break down for me a vague approximation of the amount of training-mileage/duration/intensity-and torture that these cyclists undergo to take on the ultimate bike ride? I am especially curious to find out the average cruising speed of tour de france cyclists.

How can I improve my fitness using a bike? I've just got a mountain bike and I want to use it to become fitter and lose some excess weight. I'm in my 20's and I've not done any kind of physical exercise in 8-10 years. I'd like to aim to be able to ride in the London to Bristol event next year (56 miles). Is this do-able for a novice? Can you point me to a website with any good solo training programmes? My plan is to start going out and doing 3 miles a day increasing this in increments of a 2 miles a week. Until I can comfortably do 30 miles in three hours - what do you reckon? I've got a decent mountain bike that is suitable for road use - it's a Kraken Carrera.
fitness program needed How can i burn fat? Im 29 years old, 6ft 240 Lbs. Over the past 5 years I have let myself get out of shape in a bad way. Im looking for a fitness program that i can do with the free equipment at my apartment complex, eg excercise bikes, treadmill, and a few weight machines. I have cut sugar out of my diet as much as i can, stopped drinking soda. I don't eat much to begin with so overeating is not a problem. Any advice is appreciated.
Can fitness gyms across the World use their treadmills to generate Green power? Could gyms across the World use their treadmills, bikes & weight machines to generate electricity? And provide power to their own lights and maybe even to the grid - practical or impractical? Much of the homeless have always been Green by recycling cans. Maybe homeless shelters could get treadmilss from Gyms acquiring new ones and have an option for the homeless to make some money by generating electricity.
What type of bike would be best for cardio workouts and some leisure riding? I am considering training for some type of race but I am a true beginner here. How do regain my fitness level? My fitness has gone down dramatically because I haven't exercised in ages, how can I regain back that level and maybe more in about 3 weeks? Excercise bikes and wind resistance??? I just got an excercise bike and I noticed that it only has wind resistance, Ive been trying it out but it is way to easy! Is there any way I can make the resistance higher or should I just get another fitness bike?
