what would you choose ( I've altered the question)? Nothing in my eyes beats a EXILE CYCLES bike, NOTHING! And I'm very happy with my TDM But here is the quandry I want a bike that is complimentary to what I already have Now I'm not interested in clones, copies or imitations. So you can exclude the Japanese/chinese GENERIC Copies of other bikes etc. So I want something classic ( and i don't mean old) something off the shelf that I can personalise. so spares and dealers aren't a problem Give me your choice and the reason why you chose it. I welcome answers from all BUT if you just Say HD and say" well if you don't know you'll never know" your wasting my time! HD owners be a bit more inventive 12 hours ago - 4 days left to answer.

Why has socialism created the worst mass murderers in modern history? Joseph Stalin Fidel Castro Vladimir Ilyich Lenin Mao Zedong Ho Chi Minh Pol Pot (Saloth Sar) Benito Mussolini Adolph Hitler Wait, did I say Adolph Hitler? "We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions." Adolph Hitler, German Workers' National Socialist Party Convention, May 1st 1927 Mussolini was also a socialist. He openly credits his fascist philosophy to; Vilfredo Pareto who promoted the social cycle theory of social progress. Syndicalist Georges Sorel who called himself an orthodox marxist and advocated for overthrowing capitalism by the use of violence, direct action, the general strike and the use of neo-Machiavellian appeals to emotion. Charles Péguy, the editor of of the literary magazine Les Cahiers de la Quinzaine, which first supported the Socialist Party in France. Hubert Lagardelle who promoted Syndicalism as a type of economic system proposed as a replacement for capitalism which uses federations of collectivized trade unions. Angelica Balabanoff, Mussolini's long-time girlfriend, was the leader of the Maximalist group and founded the Italian Communist Party. Mussolini also became friends with Vladimir Lenin when he was living as a Russian political exile in Switzerland. Some say I'm confusing socialism with communism. "The communists set up a system of socialism as a halfway step to communism." Progressive Labor Party http://www.plp.org/

remove card from the game until end of turn. Magic the gathering question.? Cards like Turn to Mist: Remove target creature from the game. Return that card to play under its owner's control at end of turn. And Astral Slide: Whenever a player cycles a card, you may remove target creature from the game. If you do, return that creature to play under its owner's control at end of turn. If i were to cycle or turn to mist a creature at the end of my end step, the creature i exile from game will come back out the NEXT end step which is the end step of my opponent's turn right? If i am right can someone please show me a direct link to the rule for MTG. Me and my friend been arguing that even if I exile my creature at the end of my turn, it will come back right away. I strongly believe that it is wrong. Because my end step as already declared, therefore, i cannot have TWO end steps. Creatures can only come back at the NEXT end step. That's my argument. Someone please clarify thank you for your time.

More from BOES: has your reading workload gone up considerably? 4.2.1. Lyric Poetry A lyric poem is a comparatively short, non-narrative poem in which a single speaker presents a state of mind or an emotional state. Lyric poetry retains some of the elements of song which is said to be its origin: For Greek writers the lyric was a song accompanied by the lyre. Subcategories of the lyric are, for example elegy, ode, sonnet and dramatic monologue and most occasional poetry: In modern usage, elegy is a formal lament for the death of a particular person (for example Tennyson’s “In Memoriam A.H.H.”). More broadly defined, the term elegy is also used for solemn meditations often on the question of death, such as Gray’s “Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard. An ode is a long lyric poem with a serious subject written in an elevated style. Famous examples are Wordsworth’s “Hymn to Duty” and Keats’ “Ode to a Grecian Urn.” The sonnet was originally a love poem which dealt with the lover’s sufferings and hopes. It originated in Italy and became popular in England in the Renaissance, when Thomas Wyatt and the Earl of Surrey translated and imitated sonnets written by Petrarch (Petrarchan Sonnet). From the seventeen century onwards the sonnet was also used for other topics than love, for instance for religious experience (by Donne and Milton), reflections on art ( by Keats or Shelley) or even the war experience (by Brooke or Owen). The sonnet uses a single stanza of (usually) fourteen lines and an intricate rhyme pattern (see stanza forms ch. 4.5.). Many poets wrote a series of sonnets linked by the same theme, so-called sonnet cycles (for instance Petrarch, Spencer, Shakespeare, Drayton, Barret-Browning, Meredith) which depict the various stages of a love relationship. In a dramatic monologue a speaker, who is explicitly someone other than the author, makes a speech to a silent auditor in a specific situation and at a critical moment. Without intending to do so, the speaker reveals aspects of his temperament and character. In Browning’s “My Last Duchess” for instance, the Duke shows the picture of his last wife to the emissary from his prospective new wife and reveals his excessive pride in his position and his jealous temperament. Occasional poetry is written for a specific occasion: a wedding (then it is called an epitalamion, for instance Spencer’s “Epithalamion”), the return of king from exile (for example Milton’s “Lycidas”), etc. I mean the example poems. I've read two of them. OK, maybe three or four, tops. Did you mean Sonny Boy Williamson or Memphis Slim?
ATTN: Atheists, if you base your [non] belief on the presentation of facts and logic, how can you not believe? I believe in God. But almost every religion in the world that has a deity or many deities, seems to be based in Ancient Assyrian Tales and the tales of Gilgamesh. -Adam and Eve -Great Flood -A Nation in Exile And there's a lot of science that backs up Christianity, Judaism, and Islam...such as the great flood. The earth's climate goes through cycles of warming and cooling. Every Religion that has a tale of a great flood originated in coastal areas. During the time (about 10,000 years ago) that these great flood stories came to fruition, the earth has just ended a cooling period and a global warming set in. Causing sea levels to rise. This, combined with a massive landslide in the Med. Sea, that caused a huge Mege-tsunami, may have given the appearance of a global flood because people in those days didn't travel far from their homes and the only thing they knew and ever saw was their coastal enviroment, which was now covered in water. Also in times of global warming, more ice is melting, more water is evaporating, and more rain falls, supporting the 40 days of rain from the biblical version of the flood. So how can you not believe?
NY Story, more snippets. What do you think about my Story? The scythes that occupy downtown Manhattan are a species of their own. That cannot be immediately spotted, but, if you listen to your gut, you run away and barf. But, the city and it's scythes are so pretty, beautiful and artfully constructed, one cannot help but pull the drapes aside for another peek. And another, and another.....I was stuck in a cycle of binging and purging on Downtown Manhattan.... Not to mention the odd pets I collected. Soledad, a broken, nicely shaped Dog from the Upper East Side, a sort of Chihuahua, I imported downtown to my home, sniffed me and never left my side, fellow and happy exile to this day. For my sake she pretends the past didn't happen, except for the occasional bite/shi*t/pee accident when she detects a sharp sound or light that reminds her...... My collection then, of bugs and pretty caterpillars were still recognizably human; they are what they are, colored creature pets whom are greatly interesting to the scientifically minded. I stuc
is 2012 going to be the end of world? I RECENTLY ASKED A QUESTION ABOUT WHO THINKS THE WORLD WILL END ON 2012. THIS IS MY BASIS FOR THE QUESTION. this is an essay i wrote for a speech i had to give in college, i have a real nice power point to go with it.please grade me (F-A) December 21, 2012 is a day that many people are unaware of or just don’t care about. After watching the history channel and surfing the internet I have recently become aware of the subject myself and have overwhelmed my brain and computer with information pertaining to this subject. There is a lot of information on this subject so I will only mention a few predictions and state some facts. Nostradamus, the Mayans, Edgar Cayce, and NASA predict 2012 will either be a day never to be forgotten or even worse the end of the world. Nostrodamus is the most famous prophet I would like to talk about. Nostradamus was born in 1503 in St. Remy de Provence and was primarily known as the profit of doom because of his predictions of destruction and death, it has been said he predicted the birth and rise of Hitler, the French revolution, September 11th, and the assassination of John F Kennedy; but the most important prediction in my mind is his prediction of the end of the world. The history channel states that when the 13th zodiac sign, Ophiuchus (between Scorpio and Sagittarius) aligns with the sun and the center of the galaxy “the knowledge of the trees in the garden of Eden will be released” according to one of Nostradamuss’ writings. Nostradamus had his own style; he wrote in quatrains, poems that were very cryptic and often unreadable. He had to do this because the church would exile him or kill him if they read his devilish predictions. The Mayans were a civilization that resided in Mexico around 2600BC and are known to be very advanced for their time. The Mayans are also known for creating the most meticulous calendar ever; it is so precise it has been said it is 3 seconds off when predicting lunar and or solar eclipses; when used today. The Mayan calendar is actually a collection of calendars known as the Tzolk’in with 260 days divided up into 20 periods and 13 days. The Haab has 365 days and was used to predict solar anomalies; together they make a complex calendar that proves to be accurate. Their calendar system is further more divided with the long count calendar which was used to count days on a linear scale of decimals. This was also used to track time that had passed and is also known as the great cycle. The great cycle lasts for 5,125.36 years from beginning to the end. The Mayans believe the world has been created 5 times and destroyed 4; they also state the cycle we are currently in begun on August 11, 3114BC and ends on December 21, 2012. They too fear an astronomical catastrophe will occur on this day just like Nostradamus. Edgar Cayce was born in March 18, 1877, and it’s been said he was one of the best psychics of the 20th century. He gave readings to people while in a trance; he would tell people if they had terminal illnesses, the right business moves to make, life choices, etc. and he also made predictions for the beginning and end of world war one and two and he even predicted the exact day of his own death; January 3, 1945, and he was right. Edgar Cayce also predicted that the world will loose its coastal city’s to floods around December, 2012 while the continents are being rearranged. Edgar Cayce was not always right though once he predicted that Atlantis would return in 1968 or 1969 and he was wrong; many of his believers were extremely disappointed when this happened. NASA, or the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, is a very well paid organization that puts a lot of money into their technology for space exploration and studies of space. NASA states that extreme solar storms around 2012 will occur. These storms will hit the sun causing what is called sun spots and this could change the way all the people on earth live, all cell phones, satellite, and GPS systems may cease to work; this would cause chaos and confusion. There is much more from NASA they also state that the crossing of planet X or “Nubri” through our solar system will switch our planets axis making the North Pole the South Pole. This would be done by the immense amount of gravitational pull planet X has. December 21, 2012 may prove to be an ordinary day or our worse nightmares may come true one thing is for sure we have been warned by many including Nostradamus and his prediction for 2012 or NASAs’ facts that our poles will be shifted due to solar cataclysms around 2012. Also one of the most advanced cultures, the Mayans with their extremely accurate calendar mark the end in 2012, and Edgar Cayce who made many predictions some correct and some incorrect. Whether or not the predictions mentioned will prove to be true only time will tell. I am not asking will or wont the world end GRADE ME! when i do my persuasive speech then you can tell me please read the question in its entirety sorry grade and answer question:)

Spiritually Speaking™ Please read the following ... do you agree ? According to the Online Etymology Dictionary, the word bible[4] is from Latin biblia, traced from the same word through Medieval Latin and Late Latin, as used in the phrase biblia sacra ("holy book" - "In the Latin of the Middle Ages, the neuter plural for Biblia (gen. bibliorum) gradually came to be regarded as a feminine singular noun (biblia, gen. bibliae, in which singular form the word has passed into the languages of the Western world.").[5] This stemmed from the Greek term τὰ βιβλία τὰ ἅγια (ta biblia ta hagia), "the holy books", which derived from βιβλίον (biblion),[6] "paper" or "scroll," the ordinary word for "book", which was originally a diminutive of βύβλος (byblos, "Egyptian papyrus"), possibly so called from the name of the Phoenician port Byblos from whence Egyptian papyrus was exported to Greece. Biblical scholar Mark Hamilton states that the Greek phrase Ta biblia ("the books") was "an expression Hellenistic Jews used to describe their sacred books several centuries before the time of Jesus,"[7] and would have referred to the Septuagint.[8] The Online Etymology Dictionary states, "The Christian scripture was referred to in Greek as Ta Biblia as early as c.223." The Hebrew book titles come from the first words in the respective texts. The Hebrew title for Numbers, however, comes from the fifth word of that text. The Torah focuses on three moments in the changing relationship between God and people. The first eleven chapters of Genesis provide accounts of the creation (or ordering) of the world, and the history of God's early relationship with humanity. The remaining thirty-nine chapters of Genesis provide an account of God's covenant with the Hebrew patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (also called Israel), and Jacob's children (the "Children of Israel"), especially Joseph. It tells of how God commanded Abraham to leave his family and home in the city of Ur, eventually to settle in the land of Canaan, and how the Children of Israel later moved to Egypt. The remaining four books of the Torah tell the story of Moses, who lived hundreds of years after the patriarchs. His story coincides with the story of the liberation of the Children of Israel from slavery in Ancient Egypt, to the renewal of their covenant with God at Mount Sinai, and their wanderings in the desert until a new generation would be ready to enter the land of Canaan. The Torah ends with the death of Moses. The Torah contains the commandments, of God, revealed at Mount Sinai (although there is some debate amongst Jewish scholars, if this was written down completely in one moment, or if it was spread out during the 40 years in the wandering in the desert). These commandments provide the basis for Halakha (Jewish religious law). Tradition states that the number of these is equal to 613 Mitzvot or 613 commandments. There is some dispute as to how to divide these up (mainly between the Ramban and Rambam). The Torah is divided into fifty-four portions which are read in turn in Jewish liturgy, from the beginning of Genesis to the end of Deuteronomy, each Sabbath. The cycle ends and recommences at the end of Sukkot, which is called Simchat Torah. The Ketuvim, or "Writings" or "Scriptures," may have been written during or after the Babylonian Exile but no one can be sure. According to Rabbinic tradition, many of the psalms in the book of Psalms are attributed to David; King Solomon is believed to have written Song of Songs in his youth, Proverbs at the prime of his life, and Ecclesiastes at old age; and the prophet Jeremiah is thought to have written Lamentations. The Book of Ruth is the only biblical book that centers entirely on a non-Jew. The book of Ruth tells the story of a non-Jew (specifically, a Moabite) who married a Jew and, upon his death, followed in the ways of the Jews; according to the Bible, she was the great-grandmother of King David. Five of the books, called "The Five Scrolls" (Megilot), are read on Jewish holidays: Song of Songs on Passover; the Book of Ruth on Shavuot; Lamentations on the Ninth of Av; Ecclesiastes on Sukkot; and the Book of Esther on Purim. Collectively, the Ketuvim contain lyrical poetry, philosophical reflections on life, and the stories of the prophets and other Jewish leaders during the Babylonian exile. It ends with the Persian decree allowing Jews to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple. See how annoying long questions are ... Yea ... i don't care either ... theres three minutes of YOUR life you'll never get back ....
Is this "domain" Magic the Gathering deck good for a start? Now I know being about three weeks into Magic, I should start off with a mono-colored deck but I made this deck based off of the decks and boosters I bought. I'm new to Magic so I really don't have great knowledge on deck building but I tried my best, is it anyone good? At least for a start? Some cards I use basic land cycling more than the intended use. Do you think it is fair for people to withhold their contributions because they don't want society to owe even more civil liberties. Let me be more clear, if an individual has given every best effort to society and society still discredits them then do you think it is generous of that individual to stop contributing and make society feel a little less guilty. I am a young adult of the twenty-first century who has made every conservative move to live with respect and integrity for my peers. What is expected of me that gives society the right to ask for such outrageous contributions when I haven't indulged in the fruits of others. I feel that the young adults of this age are forced into consuming more than they can possibly support. Essentially, one can only live a servants life or an exiles life. What logic is it that makes people think that the cycle of abuse is an appropriate method of lifestyle? Do you know where your luxuries come from? And if you don't, do you still accept them and all the sweat of those people who bring them to harvest? Is my sight twisted? If so, then where is the error? Clifford D: "Learn from history...people fought for the comfortable life that you enjoy" I don't dispute that people fought for the comforts(most of which I do not participate in) that people in society enjoy. However, don't attempt to say that I asked for them to fight for me. People have started many wars for many reasons, and none of them had to do with my generosity. I am fighting for the rights of people everywhere to lead a reasonable lifestyle. Don't try to pretend that I don't carry my weight. I am standing up for all of those people who deserve to live their lives in peace. People don't need to risk their life to live happily, it is not essential. I don't plan on bringing anyone into this world or taking anyone out of this world. My motto is "Live and let live". I don't have to accept your mode of well-being and you don't have to accept mine. Oh, any by the way Clifford, my ancestor was a microbe who saved your microbe ancestors life, so I don't owe you anything. Psyengine, as always your post does touch upon the major issue of my post. The dilemma arises from a composition of the topics which you covered. What does the self do when proposed an ultimatum regarding either the respect of self or the respect of other. Can we respect ourselves and please others simultaneously. Especially if those others refuse to be clear or satisfied with the conditions of their pleasings. I find myself in a peculiar arrangement. If others refuse to accept my outstretched hand then how can they call me the traitor/outcast. How can others complain when I offer a solution and they have no solution of their own; I think it is a contradictory affair. I ask only that I can carry out my work uninterrupted, but apparently that is too much to ask. If others have some expectation then they ought to declare it explicitly or keep their idle chatter to themselves.

Is this Essay good. Found it on the Internet.? The life of one person is a precious pearl of wisdom, passion, love, and guidens which allows us to seek the truth, and refuge of everyday life. The novels “The Black Echo” and “By The Cold River” display the hardship and struggles of abiding by the rules of everyday life which concurs to the beliefs of the criminal life; which eventually leads to a death of an individual. “The Black Echo” presents the rise and fall of an individual in the criminal life more effectively than “By The Cold River”, and is a much greater example of one’s struggle to determine their identity in constant masses of mental suffering which can be seen through the stages of mental and physical suffering, the evolution and the destruction of a characters beliefs through his unimaginable mindset. The justification of beliefs through the process of mind vision alone is tempting to the fact that uncharitable and unreliable credibility can be mounted and brought up to one’s judgment. In the case of Harry Bosch in the novel “The Black Echo”, Bosch deals with a lot of secondary distractions which lead to an excess of uncanny decisions that ultimately leads to his failure as a lone just detective with moral rights. “You mean the window? I’m not here about that.” This quote exemplifies the distress Harry is feeling during the time of his best friend’s death; he can t seem to cope with the loss and is suffering mentally due to seeing the world surrounding him one dimensionally instead of praising the surroundings with open arms. The hardship of having to deal with emotional and mental struggles each and every single day is tedious and harmful to your mental and physical being in every shape and form. From day one the self conceived “Tunnel Rat” Harry Bosch was alone, isolated, and bridged from the rest of society. The belief to air out suggestions and dismantle ongoing connections from his surroundings, has succumbed and strained Bosch to a minimum, with only a few shreds of belongings to his aid. The mindset of philosophical vision can be attributed to such techniques exhibited by Bosch during his outcry, do discover the mysterious death of long time “Tunnel Rat” friend Ralph Cupperd, only to slowly become more devious and hateful to others during his long quest of hardship and delight for others. Stages of mental suffering can vary on the strength of one’s being or self, Harry Bosch manages to deal with his suffering with anger, full throttle, and revenge of others on a prominent case he feels needed to bring himself back to life. The dilemma of a person is an eventful stage in life without sole purpose to one’s sacred being as presented by the setting of the novel, which takes place on the outskirts of New York City. The general idea of post-cold war New York with a delusional and misunderstood Harry Bosch have led him to believe that he is just an illusion of his afterthoughts, or a product of nothing but a set of cold ashes on the floor. The evolution of Harry Bosch’s Character from a smear savvy being to a heartless, vengeful, and fearless being has made him realize the understanding of the setting around him in order to graze and relish the time of luck and charm against tough love, and hard chances on the streets of New York. The high risk of understanding what needs to be done can elude one from the promising challenges in life as attributed to Mr.Bosch’s sense of knowledge and understanding through the struggles of others. “As preposterous as I may look and sound I am the legacy of the department”. Bosch is constantly referring to himself as a generally stable person, and the only hope for the LAPD to solve the crime mystery of his late “Tunnel Rat” friend Ralph Cupperd. It is indeed noted in this passage that Bosch is struggling and going through two stages of mental suffering, he is going through internal/external suffering on the basis of Ralph and himself. In order to pursue a solid goal one must struggle to achieve it; in the case of Harry Bosch that task has been succumbed but, incomplete in the challenge of surfacing a prime case against his usual suspects. Bosch is indeed a mystery of illusions that will only be solved with a few cracks, and twirls in the direction and path of salvation even if it means jumping the gun and hording his own life for the sake of the others in his life. To master a plan one must study, elaborate, and set a goal for it as done by detective Harry Bosch. A parallel of commodities can be justified with a choice of power given to one special person on a basis of a mutual agreement. The construction of a suggested basis agreement can be stacked, and destroyed, dependant on the outcome of the heralded situation through long periods of time. The novel “By The Cold River” by Henry Perkins provides key situations where a character endures extreme limits of both physical and mental suffering as especially attributed to Joey Padilla a young sailor. The climatic point in the novel allows us to view the struggles of Joey, but allow us to observe the rise and fall of Joey Padilla. The identity of a person is crucial in identifying their general philosophical views of their surroundings, and their personal beings. The outcry of success or failure is surfaced by the gesture of completion or incompletion, as indicated by Mr. Padilla's movements through the novel. The attempt to save his own life through others has led Mr. Padilla to absorb fruitful, and sorrow reaction from the patriotic nearby towns people in Leigh Port. It’s the sense of dignity but more so pride that causes the downfall of a central character in the midst of moving up the ladder towards the ultimate goal of achieving strength, will, and freedom. The pride of Joey Padila was his sense of greatness, kindness, and, leadership to others. It is the sense of joy to conquer, to set sail or foot on something of value worth greatness in order to feel the anxiety and urge of knowing the moment of truth within or within the value of life itself. “By The Cold River” within itself presents a classic tale of moral values between many righteous people, and their wrong doings of guilt, shame, and, redemption. It is clearly evident that Joey Padilla views his surroundings rather vividly then the reader by attempting to pursued nearby towns people to respect one another, and help release Puddy the local shopkeeper whom is on the road towards exile. The wishes of our hearts, minds, and soul are just a facet of the mind towards the never ending cycle of life which is mind, and self control over one’s being. Discovering a true passion for life is difficult in making equivalent decisions, and hard sought goals to pattern out. The height at which Puddy takes is risky, but comes with a high reward in knowing the sense of joy in completing a task in a troublesome life which has cost him his past with some effect on his future. Mr. Puddy deals with the struggle of the unknown crime, the heinous deed that he was wrongfully framed for absoloutely no cause of fear, “It is I whom must fulfill the requirements of the jury, and move on with their selection” (page 79). Tony Puddy ensures the townspeople, and his lawyers that the truth will most likely be vanquished within the eyes of the ruthless human being who has kept quiet during the whole ordeal, but demands his supporters to move on with their lives in order to live and forget about the past. It is highly ironic to note that the Padilla confession to Mr. Puddy on page 112 is greatly significant in determining the fate of Mr. Puddy on death row; it is the wishful confession of hurtful rumours that has contained Mr. Puddy to become isolated from the rest of society along with his unimaginable mind knowledge which has unfortunately let him down during the times of his trial. The criminal life can lead to serious distress, and loss of words to one’s self, it can also have a much harmful effect to one person’s identity, causing one to pursue a new identity under a new name. The reality can be surprising, truthful, but effective in a hurtful way. It is well known that Mr. Puddy is a drunken alcoholic in a sadistic virtue, but he is seemingly a character with great prosper, and acquainted knowledge of his surroundings which include the towns people of Leigh Port. It was a crucial decision for Joey Padilla to make; the decision of whether to talk to Tony Puddy again or not, or whether to leave Minnesota forever. Indeed Joey acknowledged his own decision, and set off to Vancouver for a stay which could possibly last for millions. “You must go now, take your belongings, and leave I shall not have any part in this anymore” (page 176). Tony Puddy once again persuades Mr. Padilla and his associates to leave Minnesota to catch a flight to Vancouver, which will save him from the chances of exile, and punishment if convicted guilty during the resurrection ceremony of Mr.Puddy himself. Whether it is Joey Padilla, Tony Puddy, or even Doctor Howry, the opportunity of discovering a self –identity is priceless. Without your identity it is quite difficult to succeed in life, but with a certified identity, and a solid background the future is bright, clear, and very shiny. The comparison between two greater sets of characters is quite understandable in the achievements made during their lifetimes. In the novel “The Black Echo”, Harry Bosch is an undervalued type one homicide detective with little or no understanding of his surroundings, which indicates his isolation in greater parts of society. In complete polar similarities Tony Puddy is a drunken alcoholic with little or no room for extra mistakes, which have led him to become a popular symbol amongst the town’s people of both Leigh Port, and Bryland as he faces exile in his own part of the county. The provocative views of nature along with society has greatly affected both Joey Padilla, and Harry Bosch in an uncanny matter. Harry Bosch is similar to a glowing fire on a candle, just when it looks like it will burn out it stays in tact with the melting candle. During his background check for the usual suspects, Harry blurted out a very hard nosed statement about his local people, “ If you hate me that is one thing, but if you hate what I am doing for the sake of this city then thats another”. It is very clear that Harry is a man on a mission to make New York city a better place to live, and eliminate all drug-related gangs from the streets of the city. Whether it is a goal or not Harry's dream of living a good life shall not be forgotten as it is a need he must fulfil if he must deteriate the crime that sent his fellow “tunnel rat” Ralph Cupperd to death. The case of both Harry, and Joey is quite similar; two men coming from two different backgrounds, but with the same objective of trying to free themselves from the rut they got themselves in. In the perspective of Harry Bosch it is more personal, and theoretical then normal, as he has just lost a close friend, and everday mate he can share his troubles with, while Joey Padilla is more of the accused criminal of the public outcry. This may not be a technical fairytale type tragedy, but this is an elusive figure of what can occur, when a person fights fire with fire, only to later figure out that water must be used. The identity of one person is so precious it is like a box of temptations filled with the most glorifying, and resounding colours within them. Without an identity one may not have the pride, and the sense of knowledge to move forward, and strive for the greatest achievement. The struggle attributed to an identity search is more grueling then a scavanger hunt with extra wheels on track due in part, to its safety policy, and security checks. The foundation of life is a realm of knowledge capable of educating the mind with surreal images of our surroundings which can be linked to the understanding of a person's innerself, and moral being. It is not the case of a lost identity, but a case of hardship, and struggle of discovering the meaning of life. The icing on the cake may already have been added without notice, but a true identity always comes with notice.
Animal Farm essay please help with suggestions? question is to explain how human nature impedes humans from creating a utopia and how it is shown in the novella- im an 8th grader. any criticism welcome George Orwell’s 1945 novel Animal Farm vividly illustrates, through the use of allegories, man’s attempts to create a utopia; a perfect community or society. It is reflective of the Stalinist era and his rule over Russia, and how throughout history countless attempts at creating perfect societies have failed. Orwell conveys the idea that the problem with creating a utopia lies at the very root of human nature. He points to human greed and selfishness along with ignorance for the inability of a perfect society to be created. In one of his greatest works, Orwell creates a fictional world in which animals have the ability to communicate amongst each other. They live under the oppression of a human master, Jones, who merely uses them for his own personal gain. They become inspired to rebel against Jones by an old wise pig who went by the name Old Major, he opens their eyes to the pointless lives which they lead. After the passing of Old Major, the animals are riled up once again by the smartest animals in the farm, the pigs: Napoleon, Snowball, and Squealer. They engage in a revolution and are victorious in overthrowing the tyrannous Jones. The pigs then take leadership of the farm but, Napoleon being the most ambitious of the pigs enacts a great purge in which he exiles Snowball and executes any other animal that according to him was working with the traitor. Snowball is the epitome of greed and selfishness in that he was not capable of sharing power with a fellow animal. A set of laws by which to live was also established by the animals, The Seven Laws Of Animalism. These laws are painted on the side of the barn. Of utmost importance is the law that reads “All Animals Are Equal”. The rest of the laws pertain the main idea of not replicating the actions of the tyrannous humans; not drinking, wearing clothes, sleeping in beds, etc. The Pigs begin to slowly copy the actions of humans, however these are justified by the fact that they are the leaders and are doing what is best for the entire populous of animals, classes begin to form, in which the pigs establish themselves on top of the social hierarchy, these are followed by his secret police, the dogs and all the way down to the dumbest of animals. Eventually, the animals find that the seven laws of Animalism have all been reduces to just a single sentence, “All Animals Are Equal, But Some Are More Equal than Others”. This is the story of human history, there have always been those who proclaim themselves to be great leaders and saviors, but place themselves, and a select few along side them to rule over the rest of a population. In the novella this turns what was supposed to be a utopia into a dystopia. The animals at the bottom of the social hierarchy suffer from famine, poverty, illnesses and general unhappiness while the pigs enjoy extravagant lives, which day by day resemble more that of a human. The general ignorance of the animals seems to represent a major factor in the failure to create a utopia. The smartest animals, the pigs were the ones who were able to rise to the top while the ignorant rest, did not realize that the type of government being created was rather a Totalitarian one. An example of the ignorance of the general population were the dogs, the pigs were able to manipulate the more powerful, yet dumber dogs to do their dirty work for them, these remained faithful to their demagogic leaders, not knowing that they were mere puppets. Orwell shows the reader how this superiority of a few becomes a cycle towards the end of the novella, when it is known that only the young pigs are allowed to attend school, where they are taught what human children are taught, and where one of the original laws is broken, “Four legs good, Two legs bad”. To the rest of the animals’ surprise the pigs are seen attempting to walk upright on two legs. Man’s hypocrisy is shown in the metaphor of the pigs, they create laws, but only respect them until one of them interferes with their everyday lives. The book closes with the barn animals looking into Mr. Jones’ house to see that, there was Napoleon with the other pigs drinking with human beings, those who at first had been their enemies, only that the animals could not distinguish between the two races as the pigs had become so distant from their primary objective and broken and every law of Animalism
