  1. Get a bike, cycle around your local park. There's no substitute for fresh air and excerise. Better than being stuck indoors on one of those excercise thingys. Flamingo of knowledge: Don't be so patronising. Have you ever cycled a bike when it's cold? You'll be warm and toasty within minutes. You should try it sometime.
  2. Chance Gardener, there is no need to be so arrogant and ignore the question and talk to this person as if they are a moron. Has it occurred to you that maybe it's either too cold or not convenient for this person to ride a bike outside? In the future, please stick to the question and stop being so damn judgmental. That being said, either exercise bike will help you tone up and lose weight, as long as you ride it long enough to get your heartrate up and start breaking a sweat. But a recumbent bike will put less strain on your back and you'll be able to ride it longer comfortably than an upright bike. Remember to eat healthy and the weight will drop off in no time! And to tighten up those legs and thighs, do a couple of sets of squats after you get off the bike. that will help stretch and tighten your leg muscles and give you a nice booty as well! Good luck to you.
