How accurate inaccurate are the calorie counters on exercise bikes?
Every day I hope on an exercise bike for about an hour or so. It usually says I burn somewhere between 1,000 and 1,500 calories. I am wondering how close to this number I actually might be hitting. Are these bikes often off by a small amount like 100-200 calories.....or are they frequently off by 100s of calories?

- totally inaccurate, they are a rough estimate based on a certain gender of a certain height and weight of a certain age all of which probably dont apply to you unless you are mr or mrs average, i take absolutely no notice of them at all, i would say that on average someone would be burning off approx 600-1000 calories per hour but you would have to be really putting some effort in to get anywhere near that amount of calories burnt.
