Recumbent Exercise Bicycles

Good exercise bike for someone with an arm injury?

I recently had major elbow surgery due to a fracture. I'll be in a cast from my shoulder to my fingers for several weeks, along with a sling. I have a trip to Europe booked for 3 months from now and would like to continue my (now modified) fitness routine so I don't put on weight before then. Once I rest and begin to heal sufficiently, I want to gently start up some basic exercises for my lower body, so I've decided to purchase a recumbent exercise bike that I can lean back in, rest my arm against my upper body in it's sling, and still be able to peddle away while watching some tv or whatnot. I'm specifically wondering if anyone has some recommendations on a good model of bike for this purpose. My main three concerns are: 1) I need the range of my leg motion to not wind up being so close to my upper body that it hits my arm, as this would be VERY painful. I'm thinking maybe a partially recumbent bike would be better for this reason? (Such as this model: "Stamina 15-0200 InTone Folding Recumbent Bike" -- http://www.amazon.com/Stamina-15-0200-InTone-Folding-Recumbent/dp/B000UZFSSO) 2) I'm 5'8" so I need a bike that can accommodate taller people with long legs. 3) It would be nice if the bike wasn't gigantic and was reasonably priced ($150-$400 range). And no worries, I won't be overdoing it, and I won't start exercising until I am sufficiently healed to be safe for my recovery. Thanks!! Someone mentioned talking to a salesperson, but I have to buy online because I can't drive at the moment due to the injury.

  1. Exercising helped me to lose lots of weight once I combined it along with taking acai berry. I know they say that pills do not work, but they definitely worked for me, and they have been showcased on the Rachael Ray Show too. There's a free trial on currently at http://nukufets.yngling.com , why not try it, what have you got to lose?
  2. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Talk with a sales person when looking for an exercise bike.
