Recumbent Exercise Bicycles

Are exercise bikes good for losing belly fat?

I'm trying to find an affordable home exercise machine for my room that i can use on a daily basis to get rid of my extra "pudge". are upright or recumbent exercise bikes good for this? there are to many negatives about running outside. such as its embarassing expecially if your really out of shape, you cant jsut stop when you want to, if you run out of water, you have to go all the way back to your home, if you have to sue the washroom you have to go all the way back, im 17 and my parents wont let me jog at night (which is when i would prefer to workout, to workoff my meals of the day so they dont jsut sit around while im sleeping) its jsut not convenient for me to jog.

  1. Yeah, definitely. Good luck with that!
  2. Just run outside?
  3. yes it will burn your calories good luck!!!!
  4. These bikes will tone your legs more than they will tone your stomach. They will still burn calories, but results may not be seen in your stomach for a while. Try other simple exercises that target the midsection such as crunches while also using the bike, those results may be more so what you are looking for!
  5. If you are trying to lose weight indoors, why not invest in something other than a bike which will give you an overall workout and burn calories? There are many machines available like a seated rowing machine, a half seated rowing machine (look up Denise Austin) or an elliptical machine (depending on your budget). These machines can be used while watching tv also. I would not suggest running outside since it is especially brutal on the knees if you have a heavy upper body. One technique I have tried is a slow burn workouts. There are books and dvds on this subject and the basic idea is to burn fat by doing any exercise very slowly. It really burns you up, I have tried it.
